The Lady Harvester Volleyball team is in a standby period after coach Reggie Cajayon left Eastfield College. Some players said he just stopped coming and never responded to any calls or e-mails.

"He just left to attend other business," said Athletic Director and Basketball coach Anthony Fletcher.

Criminal Justice major and volleyball player Lindsay Files mentioned that Cajayon just stop attending trainings, and he never responded to any calls when the team tried to contact him.

"He was a good coach," Files said.

To replace Cajayon's position the volleyball team has hired Audrey Glasscock from Vernon College in Wichita Falls, Texas. Glasscock will start her duty as the head coach on Aug. 1.

Glasscock attended Texas State University where she got a bachelor's degree in exercise, and then a master's in education.

"I am very excited about this opportunity, and I feel very excited to work with the Eastfield staff, and I am so happy they are bringing me the opportunity to work there and build a program to make a tradition of volleyball at Eastfield," Glasscock said.

Glasscock said she is excited about moving to Mesquite.

"I think Eastfield is a great opportunity for my career," she said.

"I met some of the players last week and they are excited because they want to start to play again. Last spring they were down for a while and they are ready to play again," Glasscock said.

She is concerned about gaining the confidence of the team players.

"I think they also need a coach with leadership to help the girls with the sport but also with school and growing up. I will support them to get a degree and make good grades," Glasscock said.

Player Lindsay Files said she likes coach Glasscock.
"I already met her at a small try-out we had, and she is good," Files said.

For next season Glasscock mentioned she will have tryouts for the volleyball team.

"I want to get new players for next semester, to build a good team," she said.

The Lady Harvesters will start the fall season on Aug. 1. For more information about scheduled tryouts and games call Athletic Director Anthony Fletcher at (972) 860-7645.
